Baker
Baker Furniture speaks the language of style. Not satisfied to be of the moment, the company works to be of the movement, in the role of a tastemaker and innovator rather than a follower at the whim of fashion. The accent is on product - through Design, Materials, Craftsmanship, and Finish. At the beginning, a craftsman named Siebe Baker worked with his hands. Later, the success of his sturdy furniture allowed his son, Hollis Baker, to study at university, travel the Old World, and hone the eye of a collector. Today these two thoughts, the eye and the hand, remain the cornerstone of Baker Furniture. For our customers, they mean a sense of integrity and the promise of things chosen well rather than often.

Hancock & Moore Furniture
In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, furniture making is an enduring tradition has been passed down through generations. A vision to manufacture the finest quality furnishings that would sustain years of use, as well as compliment individual lifestyles, became reality in 1981 when Hancock & Moore was founded. That vision is displayed in each piece of Hancock & Moore furniture through the skillful touch of master craftsmen like Jimmy Moore. At the beginning of each production day, you will find Jimmy Moore there to ensure that his high expectations of quality and sheer attention to detail are carried out. With the help of his fellow craftsmen, Jimmy Moore transforms solid woods, soft leathers and fine fabrics into hand crafted furnishings no machine could ever match. Whether it is trying to meet shipping deadlines or surveying production with his skilled vision for perfection, Jimmy Moore is one of the last to leave at the end of each work day, assuring that your handcrafted Hancock & Moore piece is shipped out from our factory and into the home of a satisfied customer.

Hickory Chair Furniture
Beneath the beautiful fabric of each Hickory Chair Sofa, Loveseat, Chair, and Ottoman is a frame constructed of kiln-dried wood that has been carved and shaped to form elegant furniture designs. The frame also features triple doweling and corner blocks that enforce the structural integrity of the shape. This shape is then lightly padded before fabric is applied. The finished upholstered look of the arms and wings of our furniture comes from the shaped wooden frame and not from foam or cotton, which with use packs, flattens, and loses shape. Foam and cotton are for comfort - wood is for shape. On lounge chairs, note the height of the back rail of the frame is approximately the same height as the back cushion it supports; this design element assures that your head, neck, and shoulders will be properly and comfortably supported. Many of Hickory Chair's fine hardwood frames are based on classic designs like that of the frame above, which dates to 1764.
